Limited to only 1,500 Editions for Worldwide distribution, this 1988 model was created to celebrate the 10 Anniversary of Mazda’s famous Rotary Sports car.
This car was purchased brand new by the only owner that this car has ever had. Purchased in Guelph Ontario Canada from the Mazda Dealer, this car has just recently come into our hands since the health issues of the owner have become a concern.
We at Forbes Waterloo Mazda in Waterloo Ontario purchased the car from the owner in the spring of 2022 and it has been on display in our showroom until recently.
In 1988, Mazda brought the Special Edition 10th Annual edition to market to celebrate a decade of RX7 production. This car was designed to represent Mazda’s sleek and aerodynamic performance sports car the RX7
Under the hood, the 10th Anniversary RX7 was powered by a 1.3 liter light weight Rotary engine producing a robust 160 horsepower and 140 lb-ft of torque. It is mated to a five-speed manual transmission that provides for a smooth responsive driving experience reaching a 140-mph top speed, and reaching 0-60 in 7.1 seconds.
The exterior of the 10th Anniversary RX-7 was originally painted in brilliant white with matching white alloy wheels. The car has a unique front air dam and side skirts, which gave this version a more aggressive and sporty appearance. The rear of the car has a special 10th-anniversary Emblem, as well as a lightweight rear spoiler for overall aerodynamic efficiency.
Inside the car, the 10 Anniversary RX-7 has a well-appointed and comfortable interior. The seats are upholstered in fresh leather, as are the dashboard and center console. Other features include power windows, power door locks, a premium sound system, and working factory air conditioning.
Overall, the 10th anniversary RX-7 was a remarkable car ahead of its time. This car remains a highly sought-after collector’s item, that continues to impress sports car enthusiasts to this day!
